When Godzilla repeatedly returns to attack Japanese power plants, the government forms a G-Grasper team to stop further attacks. They build a weapon called the Dimension Tide, which can create a miniature black hole to trap Godzilla. After testing the weapon, a strange insect appears and lays an egg, which hatches into a swarm of human-size insects that attack Japan. The insects attack Godzilla and attempt to drain his radioactive energy. The Dimension Tide weapon is fired, but misses its target. The insects transfer the energy to their queen, Megaguiras, who has grown to enormous proportions. Godzilla defeats Megaguiras in an epic battle, then is seemingly eradicated by the Dimension Tide. But doubts persist...
